Project: Shamattawa Soil Remediation at the Former School Siteand the Former Health Canada Site
Scope of Services: Project Management Services
Project Description: Remedial Action Plan (RAP) and Remediation for petroleum hydrocarbon contamination of 2 adjacent sites along the bank of the God’s River in Shamattawa First Nation. The Former School Site contained approximately 4,500 c.u.m. of contaminated soil and the Former Health Canada Nursing Station Site had approximately 5,500 c.u.m. of contaminated soil. Extensive shoring was required to ensure the protection of historical burial sites, river bank ecosystem and existing infrastructure and the sites were successfully remediated. Health Canada and Indigenous Services Canada partnered to cost share the remediation of the Former Nursing Station Site.
